If you or your child is interested in beautiful greenery, try visiting a nursery or garden. You can learn a lot about the plants, enjoy their beauty, and touch their leaves. Maybe you can even choose a seedling to bring home and nurture. It is a wonderful lesson about how to care for a living thing – and it involves a lot less cleanup (and heartbreak if things don’t work out) than a dog or cat! Many nursery owners will be delighted that you’ve come to watch them, and they’ll gladly share their passion and knowledge with you and your child.
Prithvi Theatre is a wonderful community theatre that puts on presentations in Hindi, English, and Marathi. Built in 1978, it has become a gathering spot for people of all ages and backgrounds.
The site has a gorgeous open-air café that serves Irish Coffee and other goodies, perfect for a before- or after-show treat. For the children, Prithvi Theatre puts on regular shows for kids ages 3 and up.
Do you want to spend a lovely afternoon outdoors and do some sightseeing? Well, why not take one of MTDC’s open-air bus tours? Your kids will love riding on the top deck and seeing the city from an up-high view! You can even book an entire bus if you like, which makes a great idea for a self-sustaining, fun, and educational birthday party! Imagine traveling to see sights like Gateway of India, Vidhan Bhavan, Marine Drive, Eros Theatre, and more from the top level of an open-air bus, where you can easily take fantastic photos and enjoy the breeze and sunshine on your skin. The bus stops frequently in the guided tour, giving you an opportunity to see the sights up close – that also allows your kids to stretch their legs and explore! The buses are closed during monsoon season, but from Oct-May, they’re a great way to have a relaxing and affordable kid-friendly tour of Mumbai.
