Making Handmade Paper, Thursday 28 May, 11:00am to 1:00pm, Registration ₹650

Clay Modelling, Thursday 28 May, 2:00 to 4:00pm, Registration ₹650

Clay modeling is a form of play-based learning that encourages children to express their emotions and to think about what they are doing with their hands. Whether you’re a child or an adult, the act of shaping clay can be very calming and thrilling. After some free play, the resource person will show participants how they can conceive of a form in their mind, and then realise it with their hands. When children pull and shape the forms they have imagined into existence, they experience the deep inner joy of seeing the results of their creativity emerge from their own hands.

Film Screening – Media awareness on World Cultural Diversity Day, Friday 29 May, 2:00 to 4:00pm,  Registration ₹500

Film is a powerful tool that fascinates the young. In this session we would engage with young people through critical guided viewing of advertising media that is part of our everyday environment. Detailed viewing will enable them to understand the constructed nature of cinema. This exposure will help them to develop skills of de-constructing film images and sequences themselves. They will understand the effects of film on individuals and how the compelling imagery of films influences our understanding of the world. They will see how manipulative media push us towards a narrow homogenous culture, when we are uniquely blessed in the rich diversity of cultures that makes India, on this day celebrating World Cultural Diversity.

Cold Cooking for Hot Days, Saturday 30 May, 11:00am to 1:00pm, Registration ₹650

When the summer weather gets harsh, children love cooling foods. This workshop will show them how to combine various ingredients to make their own healthy smoothies, salads and deserts without the use of fire. Along with learning some creative cold cooking recipes, children will gain nutritional ideas that will help them to mindfully choose what they eat. Participants must bring a knife that they are familiar with using, a cutting board and an apron or at least a thick cloth or towel that they can wrap around their waists, to protect their clothes from spills. The best part is they can eat their creations at end of the workshop.
